The dichotomy between the deep blue and paler golden yellow in this beautiful sapphire is reminiscent of much in life. Completely different colours entwined gracefully together in the one stone. The total is more than the sum of its parts.
Inspiration strikes the artist in many ways. This gemstone came about after finding a beautifully coloured, yet oddly shaped rough piece. The shape was oblong and pointed and got the artist reminiscing about flying kites in the field across from her childhood house. The long narrow faces tapering down to the point across the crown remind one of the mobile tails of a kite zipping through a clear sky.
A beautiful blue sapphire in a whimsical shape and perfectly sized for a unique ring. The design is a modified version of Arpa by Marco Voltolini.
