In 2016, I dragged my mother to a Gem Show organised by the Canberra Lapidary Club. At the show, I saw demonstrations of people cutting stones and decided that I wanted to cut stones too. I was 11.
I joined the Club within the week and started on my journey to learn how to cabochon and facet gemstones. In 2019 I bought my first faceting machine. That year I trained with the Australian Facetors Guild (AFG) and learned from some of Australia’s best facetors to refine my skills in this art. My work has developed with competition cutting; achieving Champion, 1st and highly regarded awards at multiple Canberra Shows, AFG competitions and other gem and jewellery prizes.
In addition to cutting stones, I have begun training in silver and gold-smithing to set the stones that I cut. I am now 17 years old and I have 6 years’ experience in gem cutting, silver and gold-smithing.
I really enjoy cabbing and faceting unique, special stones and setting them into treasured hand made jewellery for clients.
